Ernesto is the economic developer for the biohealth industry at the Maryland Department of Commerce. He is a former cancer immunologist, who worked at the National Cancer Institute as part of a team dedicated to the pre-clinical testing and development of immunotherapies.

Ernesto’s primary role at Commerce is to create jobs for Marylanders by analyzing the biohealth market and using that portfolio to make meaningful B2B connections within the local industry and to attract foreign direct investment from international trade shows like MEDICA and Arab Health.
